Jimmy White has been a professional snooker player since 1980, winning 10 ranking tournaments and a further 19 non-ranking events. He is a six-times World Championship runner-up He has won the World Amateur Championship, the UK Championship and also the Masters. As an equally talented pool player, he won the 1995 Mosconi Cup final for Europe. White became the first left-hander to hit a maximum break at the Crucible and has recorded more than 300 century breaks. He won the 2003 Poker Million tournament. He was awarded the MBE in 1999.
